Galapagos Aggressor III
In 2016, Ecuador created a marine sanctuary in the area of Darwin and Wolf that includes 15,000 square miles as off limits to all fishing to conserve the sharks that congregate there and the ecosystem on which they rely. 32% of the waters around the Galapagos islands will now be protected from fishing. The Galapagos Aggressor III offers a brand new itinerary in compliance with the Galapagos National Park regulations which requires companies with permits to follow the exact itinerary below.
•Charter runs Thursday to Thursday.•Charter includes: 4 dives a day, 2 morning and 2 afternoon. In addition, 2 night dives and 2 land excursions per week are offered.•June - November average water temperature: 60-75F, 16-24C (Cooler water and Whale Shark sightings are greater.)•December - May average water temperature: 70-86F, 21-30C (Warmer, clearer water, larger schools of Hammerheads, Manta Rays & Eagle Rays.)•5 - 7mm wetsuit recommended. This must be completed no less than 30 days prior to departure. Aggressor recommends spending one night in Guayaquil (instead of Quito) the night before your charter. On arrival expect to pay $50 for the Galapagos Visotos Card and anoteh $100 National Park fee (in US$, in cash). Rate Includes: All staterooms are air conditioned and fitted with private toilets, showers, sinks, and hair dryers (by request). Linens are changed mid-week and fresh towels are placed in each stateroom asneeded. Breakfast (cooked to order), lunch and an elegant chef prepared meal at dinner with tableside service are served in addition to fresh mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks. Beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) are complimentary while onboard. Filled tanks, weights and weight belts are included. Airport transfers are included from Baltra airport. Not Included: Airfare (international and domestic), insurance, yacht or lodge rentals, nitrox fills, certification or specialty courses, hotel stays/day rooms, dinner on final evening (Check the Know Before You Go as some packages do include dinner the last evening), staff gratuity, Port/park fees, fuel surcharge, taxes (when applicable). Currents can range from 1 to 5 knots at the sites we visit, and visibility is generally between 30 and 80 feet. Most divers are comfortable with a 7mm wetsuit June – November with a hooded vest and gloves and a minimum 5 mm wetsuit December - May. Guadalupe Island is located 200 miles southwest of Ensenada, Mexico on the Pacific coast of the Baja Peninsula. It is a rugged volcanic island, 25 miles long and the highest point is 4200 ft.. The 5-night Guadalupe itinerary provides an adventure to shark seekers who enter surface or submersible cages to experience seeing great whites up close and personal. Guests are picked up from the Holiday Inn Express Old Town Hotel (Airport), San Diego, California at 7 am; from the Hotel Palacio Azteca in Tijuana, Mexico at 8 am or the Ensenada, Mexico International Terminal at 11 am then boarding.
The Socorro Aggressors anchorage is in a sheltered bay near Guadalupe Island where the cage diving shark encounter action will take place in clear blue water. The yacht stays here for almost 4 full days where guests will rotate entering the cages every hour while seeing several sharks during each dive. On the departure date, guests disembark and are transfered to the Ensenada International Terminal for arrival at 12 pm, to the Tijuana, Mexico Airport (TIJ) at 6 pm and to the San Diego, California Airport (SAN) at 8 pm. Note all times depend on border conditions. All dives are from cages attached to the yacht and use a surface supplied air source or hookah.•2 surface cages: 4 guests rotate in and out every 45 minutes. •1 submersible cage: 4 guests rotates in and out every 30 minutes.•Equipment needed is a mask, booties, gloves, hood and a 5-7 mm wetsuit.•The average water temperature is 69°F, 21°C. Every cage program starts with a briefing from the yacht staff. While in the water, you and your buddy are in charge of supporting each other while following the briefing provided. The staff will be on the dive deck providing surface support for divers in the cages.
